The question we should ask is, is our culture making us more prone to mental illness, and can we identify aspects of our culture that are dysfunctional?
We need to start identifying how to combat cultural hazards to our mental health.

We are a sleep-deprived, over-stimulated, media-saturated, multi-tasking, caffeine, always on to what is bigger and better, materialistic culture, in energetic terms more and more masculine.
